Yesterday was our anniversary, 6 years married and somehow every year we forget the date. Thanks to my mother in law (that is wonderful with dates) we manage to celebrate on time. She calls him a day before and remind him, and he tells me and I’m always surprised. Then I promise myself that next year I’ll remember the date. …And Oops! I did it again. Hey don’t get me wrong, we love each other very much but this date manage somehow to escape from our brains all the time. One year she reminded him and he didn’t tell me anything and surprised me with gifts, flowers and a beautiful card. And I was furious because he didn’t share the information with me. But I have to confess something, I’m not the type that waits for anniversaries to have a romantic dinner and get ‘lucky’. That’s a horrible cliché. I’m extremely fortunate that S. is very romantic, he is always surprising me with something, a little gift or doing something very sweet like cleaning my oven. Oh! Yes, cleaning something in this household without been told gets wonderful rewards.

Thanks Erica.
Hi Cynthia, I never been to Fortaleza but know is a very beautiful place. Beautiful beaches, palm trees, I’m from Sao Paulo it’s more like New York. Thanks for your nice comments, I really like your blog too.
Happy anniversary! We celebrated our 6th anniversary on March 30th.
I love the flowers!
Happy anniversary Anna. I was just looking at your wonderful paintings and realized you are Brazilian. I think I could have guessed that by looking at your art…such a terrific color palette! My two nieces are Brazilian and although they have been raised in the U.S., they have a very Brazilian spirit, I think. I have been to Brazil twice (one of my best friends has lived in Fortaleza for the last 20 years) and loved it.
I am enjoying your blog – especially all your yummy recipes.
Thanks Sophie, I think everybody should live together for at least a year before get married. Divorce rate would be lower.
Happy anniversary!! We celebrated our marriage on March the 10th. We are 13 years together & 2 years married! I think it is wonderful that your husband surprises you!
Waw,…cleaning the oven,….that is something different!
Enjoy!
Thanks Lory, same here, we were living together for 3 years before we got married. And the flowers are chamomile.
Happy Anniversary! We will celebrate 6 years in July. We are so much like you, it’s funny. I always forget the date, especially the year of our wedding. I attribute it to us dating for 7 years before we tied the not. It was a big deal, but we had already been together sooo long. We tend to travel throughout the year as our gifts to each other and the trips often don’t fall on special dates so we aren’t the type to make a huge deal about the “actual day” if things either. Congrats to you! Those flowers are beautiful, by the way.
