It’s not a secret that I love… love recipe books, so much so, that when I’m a bit sad or upset I go to Barnes & Nobles where quite quickly everything just start to seem foolish to me, and the sadness is carried away only to be replaced by an amusement park comprised of books and magazines. It’s a therapy for me hanging out at the cookbooks section. And sometimes I buy it online too. Like today I wanted to buy a cake book that I saw on the net and they didn’t have it in any store. So I bought it online, but you know how it takes forever to get it delivered. So imagine my shock when the UPS guy handed me the package with my book. I couldn’t believe it was delivered in the same day…. I’M IMPRESSED!!! So much so, that I felt like twittering, face booking it all at once. So here it goes… Barnes & Nobles I LOVE YOU.

Finally somebody understand my obsession, I Luuuuuve my cookbooks. And if they are filled with beautiful pictures even better. Now I’m a bit in a pickle situation… I have no more space to store them, so I had to stop buying….but every time I go to BN I hold them and struggle to let go, LOL. I need an extra room to start buy again. Will definitely going to be in touch. ;-D
Ha, I’m so glad you commented on my blog so that I could discover yours! How cool is your blog?! I love your photos, and, girl, I’m impressed at your cookbook collection! I’m also one of those cookbook retail-therapy girls (I’ve never been able to understand those who go shoe shopping to feel better – what’s so interesting about shoes when you can read about all the amazing things you could make and eat next?!).
Anyway, nice to meet you and do stay in touch!
Wow that is an amazing amount of cookbooks! I am completely impressed!
WOW! That’s impressive. And I heart you! When I go to a bookstore I automatically zoom towards the cookbook section. I’m too poor to buy anything, though
I also like browsing the bookstores when I need an uplift. I just visited Powell’s bookstore in Portland – the largest of its kind in the U.S. and boy are there a lot of new and used books. You can find pretty much any cookbook you want there. I love how you arrange your books. They look like a colorful collage.
Wow you have lots of recipe books. I have that exact same ikea shelf at home. The same day delivery is quite impressive. I believe you can do that if you live in manhattan and order b&n before a certain time.
Thanks Kim, lately my house is not as organized as I would like. There’s lots going on here…The red and yellow painting you can check at my “about” page, its the last picture on my gallery. And for the tour I’ll post something. And will check “Design Sponge” too thanks.
Your home is lovely and so peaceful– and NEAT as a pin. You really are organized! I have a tall Sapien bookcase, too. I love that thing! Mine’s in my kitchen for my cookbooks.
After seeing your beautiful snapshots of these rooms– I am longing for a house tour- because I have a feeling every room is just as perfect. Maybe before you make the big move?
I love looking at interiors on Design Sponge- about as much as I like reading my cookbooks. It’s inspirational. And yours is gorgeous- it looks like a perfect candidate. Love all of your accessories. And I am wondering what that cool red & yellow painting looks like.
…am also impressed with B&N’s same day delivery. Now that’s a well-run business.
Hi Erica, I know…it’s therapeutic.
I love cookbooks too!!!!!!! Everytime I have a fight with my husband I go to borders and have a cup of coffee and read a cookbook! It is great
Hi Miriam, if you like cookbooks with little stories you probably would love “Tessa Kiros” all her books have amazing pictures and stories. I’m a fan.
I do have a lot of cookbooks too… and it’s not going to end, because I like to read them in bed as a novel. That’s why I love cookbooks with little stories related to the recipes. Cooking is such a good therapy for a lot of things…
I love reading cookbooks, too… although I don’t have quite as many as you do. I’m working on it, though.
Thank you guys, for the lovely comments.
Good for you, Anna! I also have a lot of cookbooks, + 100!
I love reading cookbooks, they lay besides my bed, they are therapy for me!
Wow. That’s quite a collection of cookbooks. I love cookbooks too but I try so hard not to buy it. Most of my books are kept in the cabinet. I love hanging out at the bookstore too. I think I love to shop for books more than I love clothes or shoes.
I TOTALLY agree – I feel so much more calmed and soothed after flipping through a few cookbooks! Yours look so comforting!
